Vets Golf
Last Tuesday the 29th we played our monthly 4BBB stableford. There were some great scores recorded indicating the great condition of the course.
None better though than the pairing of Robert Moore and Dave Bearup scoring a brilliant 48 points. I believe Robert had 2 under par on the back nine and, with Dave dropping in the odd 4 pointer, they proved a lethal combination. Runners up also with a great 43 points were Ian Taylor and Paul Redden. Ian got two NTPs with Robert getting the other.
The Armidale Vets Open was also and we had four ladies and four men representing our club and although some great scores were recorded we came away empty handed.
Golf next week is the Reg Taylor stroke.

Cricket
Guyra’s under 11 cricket team has started the season with a win. In their opening game they bowled first after East Gold won the toss and elected to bat.
All players took their turn with the ball gaining valuable experience. Ricky-Jay Foster was the best taking 3/12, while Oskar Laing and Charles Laing fielded well getting run outs. Easts finished their innings on 91.
In reply, Guyra made 118 off their 20 overs to get the win. Opener Rylan Wilson (20 ret), Charles Drew (11 ret.), and Oskar Laing (15 ret.) were the standouts.
In other under 11s games TAS Thunder 84 defeated Hillgrove Colts 65 and Easts Green 93 defeated Hillgrove Brumbies 72.
In the third round of the senior competition, Guyra second grade (10/147) went down to Walcha/Uralla (9/214). Guyra won the toss and sent Walcha out first. Heath Dowsett (4/31) and Tahmani Landsborough (2/44) topped the bowling effort, with Tommy Mitchell, David Torrens and Allan Boney getting one each.
Despite the loss it was a much improved batting performance with Graham Cameron (45) and Corey Torrens (42) the best.
In other second grade games Easts Yellow (7/114) defeated Hillgrove (10/112) and City/UNE (10/114) defeated Easts Green (10/59).
In third grade Guyra had the bye this week, with TAS (5/160) defeating City/UNE (10/130) and Walcha/Uralla (6/136) defeating Hillgrove (9/134).

Midweek Golf
Great weather for golf. Great to see everyone out on the course. Foreplay scored 87 points this week. Well done to this lot of young blokes.
Next we had some of the regulars Baldersleigh Bashers with 84 and the other junior team Busted Balls on 84.
Highest individual score for the week went to Ryan Vidler with 26 points. Then on a countdown there was Deb Heffernan and Levi Vanderwolf with 24 points and Nat Mendes and Leanne Burey with 23 points. Great scores.
Don’t forget to put your name, team name and handicap on your card and then sign it before you hand it in.
I have some golf balls from Darren and Suzanne Towells at New England Autos from last year and will do a few lucky draws next week. Check where you put the cards in to see if you have won a ball. Happy golfing.

Sunday Golf
This Sunday is the Paul (MUDDY) Waters day. This is a 4BBB Stableford event with great prizes to be won sponsored proudly by Paul’s family.
Muddy was a committed golfer so it would be great to see some competitors come along and support the day.
HAPPY GOLFING
