Senior Soccer
In what has been a tough season for the senior side, the effort put in week after week from the younger members of the teams is to be commended.
The weekend saw the teams play the ever experienced DK Dads side in 4th grade and a youthful DK side in 3rd grade. Both sides started strong against the opposition as has been the case for most of the season.
An injury to a key member of the club in the first half of the 4th grade led to a turn in favour of DK as the positional changes, and handling errors compounded by the extreme wind took a toll on Guyra.
The 3rd grade game started well boosted by some returning faces, a goal early in first half to DK from a well-constructed play seen them take, and hold ,the lead for the first half.
Guyra couldn’t reel in the lead in the second half after a number of shots went wide, with DK holding on for a 1 to nil win.

Under 6 spooks played in Guyra on the weekend against TAS. TAS started out short on players, so Ebonee stepped up and played with TAS for the game. A big thank you to Oscar, who backed up after his game playing for us again. Each week, we are improving and learning more.
Under 6 Caspers had another great game this week. Thanks to Banjo and Ebony from the under 6 spooks team who played a second game and helped out our team. The team are so supportive of each other, cheering each other on when goals were scored and always show great sportsmanship.
Under 7 spooks played South Armidale Starfish on Saturday. Guyra played well in attack with Vinnie, Sterling and Axel scoring Guyra’s goals. The defence from Thomas, Willow, Haidee and Eli was strong.
Under 8s played North Armidale Warriors in a fast end to end battle. The team as a whole is playing well in attack and defence. Thank you to all that battled the windy weather.
Under 10 Phantoms played an excellent game against DK. The side scored two goals from Matt S and one for Harry M in the first half. DK came back hard in the second half putting in two goals in the space of five minutes. Guyra defence held on for a 3 to 2 win.
Under 12s played a much harder game this week against Norths which seen Taharn score two goals and Peter score one in a 3 to 1 win. The side have been playing very consistently and if it continues look set to play in the finals.
