Excellent start for junior cricketers

28th Oct 2025

Junior cricket kicked off this week with a strong performance and a big home-ground win to launch the season.
Guyra batted first and had a shaky start, losing a few early wickets before Billy Cox (4 runs) and George Hope (17 runs) combined to steady the innings. Late in the order, Rylan Wilson produced a blazing unbeaten 35, helping Guyra reach a solid total of 101.
In the field, Guyra got off to a great start with an early wicket from Chaise Martin. The opposition briefly gained momentum, scoring more freely, before Noah Chapman swung the game back with two wickets in a single over. Chaise returned to the attack and added two more wickets to finish with outstanding figures of 3/2.
The winning moment came when Thomas Laing claimed his first-ever wicket, sealing a convincing 50-run victory for the Guyra side.
Well done, lads—an excellent start to the season
