The 118th Guyra Show promises plenty of excitement for all ages. Highlights include the Shearing Section on Friday night featuring a Guyra versus NSW Competition. On Saturday, Maare Foster will run Guyra’s first Wool Handling competition as part of the Sports Shear NSW Competition, along with a Guyra Locals Wool Handling event—so get your entries in for a fierce contest!
The outdoor trade space will feature new attractions, including a display by the Australian Defense Force (ADF) and our major sponsor, Origin Energy. The Skin Cancer Bus will return, offering free skin checks to attendees on both days.
New to this year is the Farmer’s Challenge on Saturday evening. Teams of four will compete in different age groups and categories, with the winning team earning the chance to represent Guyra at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Saturday night entertainment will include the Champion Carcasses from the Prime Lamb Competition on display in the bar, followed by auctioning by a local agent. The evening will continue with the Demolition Derby, fireworks, and tunes from Guyra’s own DJ Electric Postman.
Outback Stockman Lachie Cossor will travel from Longreach, QLD, to perform on Friday and Saturday nights with his show featuring horses, dogs, ducks, and the famous Benson the Bull.
Dog lovers will enjoy the 3rd round of the inaugural Northern NSW Yard Dog Competition on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, visitors can check out the Stud Cattle Hereford Feature and the poultry displays.
The Guyra Show offers a two-day family pass for $40, giving families access to all events on both days. Passes are available at the GALA Centre.
