Bags and Beans: Supporting Women in Need

28th Oct 2025

The Guyra community is invited to come together for a meaningful morning of generosity, connection, and coffee at the Bags and Beans for Dignity event on Saturday, 16th November from 10am at Harvest Collective in Guyra.
Hosted by Anne Lane and Chris from Bean Traveling, the event supports Share the Dignity’s “It’s in the Bag” campaign, which runs nationally from November 4th to 30th The campaign encourages people to fill a new or pre-loved (in excellent condition) handbag with essential items to help women, teens, and mums with babies who are experiencing crisis this Christmas.
Attendees are encouraged to bring along items such as shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash or soap, roll-on deodorant, and sealed sanitary products (pads/tampons).
If you want you can add a few luxury and comfort items such as makeup, lip gloss, face wipes, socks, stationery, scrunchies, tissues, small books, gift vouchers, or a handwritten note to share kindness and encouragement.
For Mum and Bub bags consider items such as maternity pads, breast pads, newborn nappies, baby wipes, baby wash, dummies, nappy rash cream, and disposable nappy bags.
All items must be new and in sealed packaging for health and safety reasons.
Organisers are looking for help to pack donations into bags and share the kindness and fun. Wear something pink to show your support and take part in the Bean Guessing Competition for a chance to win a prize just in time for Christmas.
If you’re unable to attend on the day, donations for It’s in the Bag can still be dropped off at Bean Traveling/Crop Hair Design or CT Electric until 28th November.
Together, the Guyra community can help ensure that every woman knows she matters - one bag (and one bean!) at a time.
