Guyra Show Poultry

An extremely successful 2025 poultry exhibition was held at the Guyra Show with exhibitors travelling vast distances to attend. High quality poultry were on show, with 75 entries registered across all classes and we had our largest number of children entering. This was extremely exciting for everyone involved, as over the past three years, Guyra Poultry exhibitions have grown from 12 entries, to 55 entries to 75 entries. We need to build more cages!
Mitchell Schmidt, our new judge, travelled from Armidale providing his professional and knowledgeable expertise and has offered his time to judge next years’ show.
The vision for Guyra Poultry this year is to continue to revamp the shed, installing lighting, new fans and hopefully securing a grant to concrete the floor, build a skillion off the front of the shed, paint a mural on the side of the shed, replace weather worn cages, build new cages and an administration desk.
As Guyra Poultry’s future is looking extremely bright, and we have received interest to join, a decision has been made to formalise the group into a Club, with an annual flat rate membership fee for individuals and families of $20 to cover insurances.
Once we are up and running, we plan to hold education days on showing poultry, animal husbandry, buy and sell days and family events.
Membership is open to all ages from beginners to professional exhibitors, everyone is welcome and we can all grow and learn from each other.
