The Lotus Club Queensland (LCQ), 2025 Grand Tour (GT) will call in to Guyra this weekend.
Burgess Garage Car Museum will play host to the vehicles on their Guyra stopover with the first cars expected to arrive at around 10.30am on Saturday July 5th.
The tour is an annual celebration of the Lotus brand, car culture, and community spirit. Its members are a diverse group of car enthusiasts united by a passion for Lotus vehicles who share a collective interest in maintaining and celebrating the history of Lotus cars
Organiser Ken Philp said they are fortunate to have the support of Lotus Cars Australia, Lotus Cars worldwide, as well as local Queensland car clubs. The club is not only about enjoying these incredible machines; it’s about community engagement and charitable giving.
“The Grand Tour is our premier event that embodies the essence of what we stand for – touring regional areas, supporting local economies, and raising money for charitable causes,” Mr Philp said.
“Each year we choose local and worthy charities to support, and this year funds raised along the way will assist the Guyra and Tenterfield branches of the Country Women’s Association (CWA).”
“We always create a spectacle as we drive and arrive in each town in convoy, a line of 30 or so exotic and historic sports cars.
“We get a lot of interest; friendly waves and the locals always take time to talk with us.”
It’s not just about the cars, but the experience. Locals are invited to come along and greet the convoy, and take time to admire the stunning Lotus models and share in the enthusiasm of the day.
“We are excited that the Guyra CWA have agreed to cater for our morning tea on July 5th,” Mr Philp said.
“The CWA’s meeting rooms, conveniently located opposite the Car Museum, will host us for a warm and welcoming gathering.
“The museum, a key stop on the tour, offers a glimpse into the rich history of motoring and car culture in the region.”
“We invite all Lotus enthusiasts and car fans to join us in celebrating this incredible brand and to support the fantastic local communities along the Grand Tour route.”
The first car is expected to arrive in Guyra at around 10:30 AM, with Ken Philp in his iconic black 2007 Lotus Europa leading the convoy. The cars participating in this year’s GT span from the 1960s to 2025 models, showcasing the evolution of Lotus design and engineering over more than half a century.
