Christmas Message

09th Dec 2025

Mayor Sam Coupland and Guyra’s 2025 Australian Citizen of the Year, Wayne Mendes, judged the Business Windows at the Carnival on Friday night. There were joint winners: GALA and the Kingdom of Tonga shop (near Regional Australia Bank). Each business will be provided with a hamper sponsored by IGA.

With Christmas around the corner and the year drawing to an end, the Guyra and Community Progress Association members extend heartfelt thanks to the Guyra community, Armidale Regional Council, our partners and sponsors. Your support throughout the year has been invaluable, and we deeply appreciate everything you do to strengthen and uplift our town.
As our new committee and members look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to connecting with the unsung heroes of our community — you. Many individuals contribute quietly and without recognition, yet each person plays a vital role in shaping who we are, and we look forward to reaching out, meeting and working with more of the Community in the new year.
After we farewell 2025 with New Year’s Eve event, our members will take a short break to rest and recharge. We will return for our first meeting of 2026 on 19 February - 6.30pm at the Guyra Neighbourhood Centre.
On behalf of the members, wishing you and your loved ones a very safe, healthy and joyous Christmas season.
