Junior shooters raise thousands for Can Assist

16th Sep 2025

An initiative led by the junior members of the Guyra Gun Club has resulted in an outstanding fundraising effort for Can Assist, with more than $8,500 donated following a special event last Sunday.
The day combined a club shoot with a popular “come-try-me” session, attracting strong community support. A highlight of proceedings was the spirited auction of four donated items, including a one-of-a-kind mailbox crafted by David Troost and John Davis, which drew enthusiastic bidding.
The club extended special thanks to David Troost, Ray and Kristy Hammond, Robert Reeves, and Leanne Rumbel for contributing quality items to the auction. Their generosity played a key role in the day’s success.
Junior Liaison Officer, Charlie Ward, coordinated the event, with support from local businesses and individuals who donated raffle prizes. Club members also turned out in force, providing a standout morning tea and lunch for members and guests.
The Guyra Gun Club praised the efforts of its junior shooters for their leadership and community spirit, with the funds raised going directly to assist local families through Can Assist.
