The Guyra men’s finals campaign came to an end on September 7th against a very organised TAS side. From the opening whistle it was a fast-paced and physical contest, with both teams pushing hard to gain the edge.
Despite plenty of effort and determination, Guyra couldn’t find a way through TAS’s tight defence, while also struggling to keep their opponents out at the other end. The scoreboard didn’t reflect the heart shown, but the Shamrocks fought to the final whistle.
One of the real highlights of the day was the strong turnout of supporters creating an incredible atmosphere to witness what was a quality game of hockey.
The club extends a huge thank you to the players, supporters, and sponsors for their commitment throughout the year. Your energy and generosity make the season possible, both on and off the field.
While the result wasn’t what Guyra hoped for, the team can hold their heads high for a season played with spirit, passion, and plenty of memorable moments.
The Shamrocks are already looking forward to next season, bigger, stronger, and ready to go again.

Junior Hockey
Guyra Under 8s finished the season on a high with another dominant performance. Ed S and Will N gave strength with their slap stick hits allowing the ball to be distributed well in the midfield to Emma J and Georgie C. Both these girls confidence has grown throughout the season allowing them to pass the ball forward to Isla L and Evie C who continued their goal scoring form.
An Under 8 medal presentation followed along with a well-earned sausage sizzle. Special mention and thank you to Sarah Cox for her coaching and guidance all season. The kids are keen to return for the 2026 season which gives great strength for the club in future years.
