Soccer season ends for Juniors

16th Sep 2025

Under 6 Phantoms played the Souths Sonics on Saturday, bringing an end to their first season of soccer. The Phantoms all had a great game and showed just how much they have improved since our first game back in May. We all got to celebrate the season at our presentation day on Sunday, with Ava winning the Best Attacker Award, Alfie the Best Defender, Bryce the Best Kicker, Edmond the Best Runner, Acton the Best Trainer, and Lani taking out both the Best Listener and the Coach’s Award. Acton and Ed shared the Players Player Award. Finally, we’d like to thank all of the Phantoms supporters. We’ve all had a lot of fun this year and we couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help! Looking forward to a dominant season in 2026!!
Under 7 Spooks hosted the Norths Lions at Guyra for the last game of the season. And what a game to end on. We were down a player and in a great show of sportsmanship from the Lions, two players subbed a half each for our team. Our team held their own against a really strong team.
Each of our players have had a terrific season. Congratulations to Roy who received coach’s award for being a great team mate, trying his best and improving in skill and confidence each week. Our player’s player could have gone to any of our team but after a draw Jack received the award. Congratulations to our team and thank you to Guyra United Soccer Club for a great season.
Under 8 Goosebumps played DK Swords in Guyra in the last game of the season. Guyra had an excellent first half in attack with good passing and shooting at goal only for DK goal keeper making three massive saves. In the second half both teams played well in attack and defence. From the first game to the last game playing on a big field and having a goal keeper you could see massive improvement after every game. Fantastic seasons Elinor, Haidee, Eli, Vinnie, Thomas and to Orlando who got the coach’s award and to Sterling who got player’s player.
Under 10s played Norths in Guyra on Saturday to wrap up their season. They have improved so much this year and it was on show Saturday with their passing and teamwork on show against a much older Norths side. The coach’s award went to Cooper Williams and the player’s player went to Luca Little in a tight race. It’s been a pleasure to coach this season hopefully very one had fun.
