Ladies’ Golf
Last week the ladies played a Par Medal round with Wendy George as the winner. Julie Walker was the runner up on a countback from Karen Oehlers. Nearest the pin winners were Karen Oehlers on the 9th hole, Pip White on the 10th hole and Wendy George on the 18th hole.
This week is a Stableford along with the Ladies Presentation night. Next week is a Daytona Event with Vicki Reeves as the starter.
Birdie
Vets Golf
On the 1st of December 14 players competed in the monthly Reg Taylor Stroke competition. First with 88 was Chris Newberry with runner up Ian Taylor on 89.
The nett winner was also Chris with a nett 77. Terry Varley was the best putter with 30 putts. Nearest the pins went to Chris Newberry on the 7th, Patty Hill the 9th, Chris Newbery again on the 10th and Len Stanly the 18th.
On the 8th December, in quite cold and windy weather, a large field of 16 players competed in an Individual Stableford counting putts.
The highlight of the day was a Hole-in-one by Nancy Prisk on the 9th. Well done Nancy.
The winner with 33 points was Terry Varley and the runner up was Mick Shiner with 32. The best putters were Colin Mulligan, Ian Taylor and Mick Shiner all with 30 putts.
Nearest the pins were Pat Grills on the 7th, Chris Newbery the 10th, Don Campbell the 18th and of course Nancy Prisk in the hole on the 9th.
This week we will be playing a Four Ball sponsored by President David Wilcox, thanks David. Since next week will be the last game before Christmas, we will again be playing for a ham and there will be a few refreshments.

Cricket
There was only one result from the weekend with most of the round washed out.
Third grade has a good win over Hillgrove in the T20 game played in Armidale.
The Guyra bowlers restricted Hillgrove to 8/101 off their 20 overs. Wicket takers for Guyra wereBrodi Campbell 2/13, Tim Foster 1/17, Simon Brown 1/10, Brendan Williams 3/13 and Steve McElroy 1/6.
In reply Guyra took just 15 overs to get the win for the loss of just three wickets. Taylor Brennan (45) was the best with the bat, well supported by Brock Laybutt (21), and Jack Lockyer (10).
The final round of games are sceduled for this weekend. First grade have the bye, while 2nds will take on TAS on Ted Mulligan Oval, while thirds will be up against City at the Truckstop.
Midweek Golf
Only this week to go before we have a break for the midweek competition. Only one team with extra points this week – Sultans of Swing. Well done.
Highest score this week went to Peter Jackson. Congratulations. Next on 22 points we have Ian Taylor, Deb Heffernan, Wayne Archibald and Ian Brown. With 21 points were Adam Brennan, Mal Gaukroger, Wendy George, Bob Burey, David Brown. And on 20 points we have Derek Smith, Jenny Rogers and Lisa Ellis.
Leading the competition are Full House with 711 and a close second we have Baldersleigh Bashers on 704. Not far away are Sultans of Swing 694. Next in line Bean Golfin 684, Pitch Purrfects 683, No Shankers 675, Nuts & Jugs 662, Shire Sharks 616, Big Nuts 604, Thistle Chippers 160 (they missed quite a few weeks).
Individual score leaders go to: Logan Beechey 172, Lisa Ellis 171, Debbie Burey 170, Darren Lennon and Deb Heffernan 166, and on 165 Steve Kliendienst, Dan Lennon, Peter Presnell, Wendy George, Neil Paine and Ian Brown.
I will put all the scores up on the board at the Bowling Club and ask Richard Burey to send them out.
We are still hoping to have a second half competition in conjunction with the main midweek comp. Still chasing names and teams.
Midweek re-commences on 18th January 2021. Looking forward to next year and lots of golf. Merry Christmas everyone.

Men’s Bowls
There were no Club Championships played over the weekend. However this weekend the Final of the Major/Minor Pairs will be played: Sunday December 20th start 1.00pm. Starter and Umpire: Robert Walls. Steven Sole and Robert Walls to play Boyd Stanley and Roger Cox.
Also weather permitting the Brian Vickery Ham Day will be played. Any person wishing to play must have their name in by 12pm. People wishing to play must be at least a social member.
Game will start 12.30pm. Box draw pairs. Cost $10.00. Bowls shirt to be worn if you have one. If uneven number of entries then last in misses out.
Coming up on Saturday January 23rd and Sunday January 24th 2021 is The Top of the Range Fours. This is a Two Day Men’s Carnival. Prize money is $5800. There will be 5 games of 15 ends. Start: 9.00am.
