Concerned about new energy infrastructure?

EWON staff will be available at the Scout Hall in Guyra on November 20th
11th Nov 2025

Residents impacted by new energy transmission projects will have the opportunity to speak directly with the Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON) this month.
EWON provides a free and independent dispute resolution service for landholders and community members living in or around Renewable Energy Zones (REZ).
They do not represent government, industry or consumers. They act independently and aim to achieve fair and reasonable outcomes for all complaints.
If you have concerns or complaints about projects in the New England REZ, come along to EWON’s free drop-in session at the Guyra Scout Hall on 20 November 2025, from 3pm to 6.30pm.
EWON can help with complaints about:
• Poor or lack of engagement from energy
entities
• Land access disputes
• Concerns about landholder agreements
• Questions or complaints about the Strategic
Benefit Payment Scheme
EWON cannot stop or delay transmission or renewable energy projects, but they will ensure the correct processes have been followed.
In addition to transmission complaints, EWON helps NSW consumers resolve issues with their energy and water providers, including:
• High and estimated bills
• Accessing rebates and concessions
• Negotiating affordable payment plans
• Managing debt and credit default listings
• Disconnection or restriction of supply
• Finding the best deal and resolving transfer
issues
• Contract and tariff issues
• Smart meters and embedded network
complaints.
Additional drop-in sessions will also be held at Invergowrie and Walcha. For more information, visit www.ewon.com.au/events.
Can’t make it? Free call 1800 246 545 or visit ewon.com.au/renewable-energy-infrastructure. Their friendly team can help resolve your complaint and where necessary, connect you to other agencies who can help.
